The nesting box is very easy to install on trees or walls. Detailed installation instructions are included with the product and are available in 5 languages.
Does the nesting box need wifi?
Yes, you need a stable Wi-Fi connection to use the nesting box and the associated app.
Is the app free of charge?
Yes, the Birdlover app is completely free of charge.
Which devices is the app compatible with?
The "Bird Lover" app is compatible with Apple iOS (version 10.0 or higher) and Android (version 5.0 or higher).
How many users can access the nest box with camera at the same time?
The nesting box can only be linked to one user account at a time. If you want to link the device to a new account, you must first reset it to remove the existing link.
You can share the nesting box with other users by adding their accounts to your family group in the app.

Is the nesting box with camera made of FSC-certified pine wood weatherproof?
Yes, the nesting box is made of weatherproof materials and protects the camera and the birds from rain, snow and direct sunlight all year round.
Please remember: Every tree is unique and wood is a natural product. Physical laws such as temperature and humidity influence the wood. However, this natural character, which makes it so attractive, also imposes certain restrictions on the lifespan of the products. Yes, the nest box comes with very detailed instructions, which are available in 5 languages. This guides you step by step through the installation process and setting up the camera.
Where should I best place the nesting box?
The nest box should be hung in a quiet, sheltered place in your garden, ideally at a height of 2 to 4 meters and in a direction that protects it from strong winds and direct sunlight. For more detailed tips on optimal placement, we have written a blog post to help you find the perfect location.
Which Wi-Fi connection is needed?
A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is required for setup and operation.
Can I also use the bird house with camera via mobile data or a cell phone hotspot?
Our camera requires a 2.4 GHz WLAN network for setup and operation. Direct use exclusively via mobile data is therefore not possible.
In principle, the camera can also be connected via a smartphone hotspot. However, two devices are required for this:
- a smartphone that provides the hotspot (WLAN)
- a second smartphone or tablet to use the Birdlover app to set up and use the camera.
Unfortunately, the connection does not currently work with just one smartphone (hotspot and app at the same time).
If no Wi-Fi is available at your location, a mobile Wi-Fi router with a SIM card (LTE router) can be used as an alternative. This creates a permanent Wi-Fi network to which the camera can connect.
How do I reset the camera?
If you have problems, it often helps to reset the bird box camera. We describe how to do this in the user manual. We have also prepared a video for you, which shows the process of resetting the camera.
